Keep Fighting the Cold!!!

Published on March 17, 2014, by in Blog, News.

Hello Everyone!

I am glad to be greeting everyone coming back from March Break! The Classes got a bit slim for a few days but everything is already getting back to normal and the weather is finally showing signs of breaking. Hurray!!! Keep those coats at hand though, I have noticed a few people getting sick so keep bundling up.

This weekend (March 22nd) at 4:00pm is our next Grading! Make sure if you aren’t registering before hand to come ten or fifteen minutes earlier. There’s going to be a good group of little ones this time around. Don’t be late and be ready to move. There are a couple last Grading Papers I want to hand out but it all depends on who shows up this week.

After the Grading, many of them are going to be moving up to the higher age groups! Many of the little ones are growing and are ready for a new challenge both mentally and physically so it’s the perfect time to mix things up. A quick note for the parents with kids changing age groups: Be advised that they will start to spar which means they will need safety equipment. They won’t need it right away but if you have any questions please ask Sensei.      🙂

Just a quick reminder, our next Seminar is an adult Nunchuck Seminar and is on April 10th from 7:45pm to 9:45pm so there will not be No Adult Classes that Night. Ask Sensei for more info.

And of course this weeks sign. A bit of a longer one but give it look and see if it’s something you can apply to your life. Have a great week and I look forward to seeing everyone soon,

March Break!

Published on March 10, 2014, by in Uncategorized.

Hello Everyone!

March Break is here and the the DOJO IS OPEN. We aren’t closing down for the Break so come on in for class.

Once again our next Grading is on March 22nd at 4:00pm. Come to class and show me your stuff if you are looking to Grade. It’s going to be a great group who is moving up. As always, it is free for observers. I recommend parents bring a camera so you have some super cute pictures and videos for later on.

This week’s sign is a great one. Many people think that Martial Arts is is a path that will lead you through life. I like to think of it more as a car. It can take you where you want to go but you still have t drive! I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Post Grading, Gear up for March

Published on February 18, 2014, by in Blog, News.

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone had an amazing Valentines Day and Family Day! It was great to spend a bit of extra time with loved ones and I hope everyone else got to as well.

We had a great GRADING on the weekend! Great turn out and great effort by everyone. The whole group, both adults and kids did an amazing job. Don’t ask about belts though. Some times we have to wait. Even when we don’t want to, lol.

The Kid’s Nunchuck Seminar is starting to fill up fast so make sure to sign up and let me know how many friends you are bringing this week so I know how many Chucks to get. I want to make sure there are enough for everyone. Ask in the Dojo for all the details or click HERE.

A quick poll for parents. Not for this year, but next year I am trying to get a day or a week camp together for kids. Both for the Summer and for March Break. If there are any parents interested in this let me know. If there is a strong interest for one over the other I will make sure to put a program in place. Maybe even get both together.

Here is this week’s sign. This pops in my head every time I try to put something off. Have a great week and i Look forward to seeing everyone soon,

Great Advice, Prepping For The Month

Published on February 3, 2014, by in Blog, News.

I hope everyone’s weekend was great. The new month is here so get ready for Valentines Day. Plan your special night with some one close so you don’t break any hearts by accident. It’s a short month too so keeps those eyes open or you might miss the whole thing.    🙂

Just to reaffirm, the Next GRADING is on Saturday February 15th. If you still want to be in it make sure to show me your stuff in class. There is still time.

Now that the Dojo has a few Green belts (or third Kyu, feel free to check the Glossary in the Student Tools Section) you may start seeing a couple extra assistants at Gradings and in class. Keep your eyes peeled.

At the End of the month we have the Kid’s Nunchuck Seminar! It’s going to be a blast, sign up early if you want your little one to come. I have to make sure everyone has a pair of “Chucks” for the seminar. Click HERE for more details.

Lastly we have this weeks sign. It is one of the single best pieces of advice I have been given in the past few months. The first person to correctly identify the source of the quote will get a set of 3 Bell’s Martial Arts pins! It can be a student or a parent, but you have to tell me in person.

I am deciding what the next adult seminar is going to be. It will happen either at the end of March or early April so if there is anything you want to learn more about make sure to tell me. If I get a lot of requests for a specific subject then I will make sure to have a seminar covering it!!! Just no Board Breaking until the Summer. Lol. I look forward to the week and seeing everyone soon,

New Week, New Sign, Lots To Do

Published on January 27, 2014, by in Blog, News.

Hello Everyone!

A new week is here and I hope everyone is ready! There is supposed to be a cold snap so make sure to take care and bundle up. Our last Grading was great and everyone was successful. A very strong showing, both from the little people and the big people! For all those that missed our last one, the next will be on Saturday February 15th at 4:00pm. This one should be a smaller one too but I expect just as strong a showing.

This week on Thursday the 30th, from 7:45pm-9:45pm we have our Sai Seminar, so there won’t be a regular adult class at that time so take note. If you haven’t signed up yet please talk to Sensei and sign up at the Dojo. We will be going over Toko Mini No Sai. Lots of fun!

On Saturday March 1st we will be having our first Kids Nunchuck Seminar from 3:30pm-5:30pm! It’s going to be a huge blast! Everyone who attends will get a pair of Nunchucks and the seminar will end with pizza for everyone there! There will be more details in the Dojo and online this week.

This weeks sign is simple, straightforward, and true. I find myself wasting my own time and needing a reminder to keep on track. I hope everyone likes it this week. I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon,
