Hello everyone,

The weather keeps getting crazier and crazier! Even though it’s much warmer then last week. make sure you keep  bundled up. It is times like these when people let their guard down that they get sick. Stay warm and stay active!

On Saturday we have our next Grading! The group looks ready and excited. For those in the Grading please bring as many guest as you like. It is always free for spectators! It’s going to be a lot of fun and it is always more fun to share your experiences with a friend.

About two week after that we have our Sai Seminar! That will be on Thursday the 30th from 7:45pm-9:45pm. Sign up early so I can get the right size Sai for you. Weapons are a very different experience from empty hand training.

This weeks sign is a good one, and simple too. Always remember, if you want something plan the seed in your mind first. Looking forward to classes this week. See everyone soon,

Weekly Sign

Published on December 16, 2013, by in Blog.

Hello Everyone!

Been a bit of a slow weekend. Many families have already started taking their holiday vacations and some classes have been fairly small. So if anyone is looking for a smaller class and a bit more individual attention. make sure to come for class over the next few weeks. And if you are taking some time to see your family this time of the year, have fun! Eat lots of turkey. Don’t be too stationary over your break though. Remember, “Seven days with out Karate makes one weak”.

Just to re-affirm, the Dojo will be CLOSED on December 24th, 25th and 31st as well as January 1st. We will be open every other day for regular classes.

Here is this weeks sign. The quote comes from Gandhi. I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Have a wonderful week,

Weekly Sign, Next Grading, Sai Seminar

Published on December 9, 2013, by in Blog, News.

Hello Everyone!

The Holidays are in full swing, the snow is showing it’s self and the New Year is almost here. As we finish of the year and the Holidays take over, make sure to get yourself a present or a treat and take time for yourself as everything gets busier If that means making a Karate class, or stopping for a tea DO IT! It’s just as important to take care of yourself as it is to take care of those around you.

Our next GRADING has been set for January 18th at 4:00pm. Get ready to kick the year off right.

Our next Seminar will be January 30th from 7:45pm – 9:45pm (Thursday night) and will be a Sai Seminar. The Sai are in interesting set of weapons that can trace their roots back to Okinawa. We will be learning Toko Mini No Sai. It’s going to be a blast and a great way to get ahead before you get your Blue Belt. There will be more information to follow.

This weeks sign is another old proverb. Never close off the most important tool you have. If you shut it off form everything around, it can’t grow! I look forward to seeing everyone soon,

Grading, Great Time Breaking Boards, Weekly Sign

Published on November 25, 2013, by in Uncategorized.

Hello Everyone,

Busy week last week. We had both the Kids and Adult Board Breaking Seminars. They were a SMASHING success… Expect the galleries to pop up soon. There were some big hits and a lot of fun had! Can’t wait for the next one.

This weekend is of course our last GRADING for 2013. It’s looking like a big one. Makes sure if you are in it to bring a camera and as always it is free for spectators.

We still have our Holiday Special on ALL merchandise as well.

It’s COLD! Make sure you wrap yourselves up well! I have heard there are some colds and flus going around the schools and offices of Toronto. Be careful. That should be it. This weeks sign is something I try and remind myself of every time I am scared. Have a great week and I look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Hello All,

This is going to be a busy week. On Thursday night we have the Adult Board Breaking Seminar. Saturday we have the Kids Board Breaking Seminar. Both are gonna be a hoot and I have a couple extra boards so if there are any last minute board breakies HURRY!!! Just to get everyone pumped up here is a bit of a tease:

On the 30th we have the years last GRADING. If you want in, come to class and show me your stuff!

Of course from now till the end of the Year we have our HOLIDAY SPECIAL, 15% OFF ALL MERCHANDISE. Now’s the time to get that extra Gi.

ALSO, a lot of people have been asking for a glossary of Martial Arts terms for easy reference. I have put one up in the Student Tools section of our website. You will need to sign into that section of the site and it will get updates about history, points on Kata, Sparring etc so check it out from time to time. The log in info is at the Dojo so ask Sensei. It may change from time to time. Click HERE to go to the Student Tools.

I am looking forward to smashing everything this week and seeing everyone reach some goals. This weeks sign is something I think everyone forgets about from time to time, including myself. Have a great week and see everyone soon!
