Weekly Sign, Grading & Seminar

Published on June 10, 2013, by in Blog, News.

Almost half way through June. Where has the year gone?

As the year keeps creeping along we are getting stronger as a club and the student population is growing. As we move forward we will be doing seminars more frequently. The seminars we will be doing are areas we don’t get to focus on in class, katas from other styles many other topics. Don’t count on a seminar of the same type coming along often as I am going to mix them up. Our next seminar is a Bo Seminar. This seminar will be a great way to get ahead and learn something that normally is not learnt till Green Belt. Check at the Dojo for more details or check out the event page on facebook HERE.

Also, some have been asking when the next Grading will be. It will be on July 27th. Details HERE or ask at the Dojo.

And of course for the weekly sign. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Make sure you’re not one of the ten that let it go unused.

Post Grading, Weekly Sign

Published on June 3, 2013, by in Blog, News.

So a new month is upon us and the Summer Season is almost officially under way, (officially starts on June 21st). We had a great showing at the Grading on the 1st. Can’t say for certain if we will be adding some more colour to the ranks this week, but the Grading had some great sparring, control and heart. It’s looking like we will be having our next seminar at the end of the month. I will add details tomorrow. As for this weeks sign it’s a classic. Everyone is scared of something. No way around that. It’s about what you do with that fear that makes us brave. Looking forward to classes and seeing everyone this week. Take care and enjoy the day,

Weekly Sign, Grading!!!

Published on May 27, 2013, by in Blog.

Hello & Happy Monday,

Just a reminder that this Saturday is a Grading! It will start at 4:00pm, so if you still need to register make sure to come a bit early. Family and friends are encouraged to stay and watch, just make sure they have a camera. I am super excited and can’t wait to see a new group moving up the ranks.

This weeks sign is a little reminder about perseverance. Looking forward to training this week. Make sure to bring those mouth guards and sparring gear!

Habits, Weekly Sign

Published on May 21, 2013, by in Blog.

This is so true. I love this quote. We are what we do. And remember that we ARE in charge of OUR ACTIONS. Weather is going to be a bit up and down this week so plan accordingly. I hope to hear a few fun stories from the long weekend. See everyone soon.

p.s. Getting ready for the Grading on June 1st at 4:00pm! It will be fun and all spectators are free. Make sure your family and friends have their cameras.

News & Weekly Sign

Published on May 13, 2013, by in Blog, News.

To Start Off This Post,

A few reminders.
#1
, Don’t forget that the Dojo will be closed on Monday May 20th for Victoria Day Long Weekend. So if you are coming back from the cottage don’t rush and have a good ride. Lots of BBQ!
#2 Don’t forget the next Grading is on June 1st at 4:00pm, So if you have been aiming for that next belt, the 1st is your target. I will be checking students this week to see who is ready. If you are in it, take pictures and bring friends!
#3 For all the tech savvy folks we are now on foursquare! If you use it you should check in. I will be adding specials!!! Like this one: At the end of each month the Mayor of the Dojo (not the Sensei) will get one free 45 minute private lesson to work on whatever they want with me, Sensei. It will be once a month so make sure you art checking in often. #4 For the new adults, we will be starting to spar next week so if you would like to get in on it, order equipment this week. That way when we start it will be ready and waiting for you. Now on to the weekly sign.

I like this sign a lot. It reminds me of a post from a few weeks back. It was about using thoughts like a magnet to attract what you want in life. This is along the same route. Remember that if you have to believe you can accomplish something, before you physically can. Looking forward to the coming week!

Hello Everyone,

The Victoria Day long weekend is upon us! Get the fireworks, sparklers, water guns and cottages ready. As everyone is making plans for the big weekend I just wanted to make sure everyone know that the Dojo will be closed on May 20th for the holiday. So if you were planning to come for class, don’t! So have fun and make it a good one. See some family and eat too much food. See everyone in class.
