SHORT WEEK, Being Mindful, Weekly Sign

Published on July 2, 2013, by in Blog, News.

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. There was a lot going on this weekend between Pride and Canada Day celebrations and it’s only going to get busier as Summer continues, so plan out your time in advance.

Our next Seminar is on Thursday from 7:30pm – 9:30pm, it’s a Bo Seminar. For all those who pre-ordered a Bo they are here and ready! If you still want to come to the seminar but do not have a Bo feel free but make sure to bring some thing you can use in it’s place. It’s going to be a lot of fun and a great way to get ahead in your training.

Our Next Grading is on July 27th and it should be a big one. Everyone who wants to be in it, come to class and train hard.

I have heard a lot in the news lately about attacks in the city, both on the streets and in people’s homes. A few people have asked what the best thing to do when you are attacked is. This is a very broad question as every situation is different, but these points are the best advice I can give:
1) If some one wants your wallet/phone/bike/purse etc, GIVE IT TO THEM. It’s not worth it. You never know if there are more of them around the corners, or if they have a gun. No matter what is in your phone, it’s not worth dying over.
2) If anyone is trying to take you to a car/home/away that is the time to fight! If they are trying to take you some where it is NOT FOR A GOOD REASON, so do whatever you can to get away. Bite, scratch, yell, punch, kick, whatever it takes!
3) The best defense is awareness and ideally avoidance! If you have to go down a dark alley to get to your car, take your earphones out, have you keys in hand and be aware of everything.
Hope some of that helped.

Now our weekly sign. Some times it’s not about doing more. Some times you have to stop and let others make the mistake. When they do, TAKE ADVANTAGE! Have a great week and I look forward to seeing everyone soon.
